Dr. Danielle’s goal is to thoroughly assess each patient through an in-depth clinical intake and necessary diagnostic testing. Safe and effective treatment plans are developed to address the whole person through individualized care.
You can expect your initial visit to last one hour, going through your entire health history, physical exams and a requisition for lab work through your local bloodwork clinic (Lifelabs costs are additional to appointment, but covered by many insurance plans). Patients typically complete any necessary bloodwork and gather any other needed information, before returning to the clinic in 1-2 weeks for a follow-up assessment to discuss their comprehensive treatment plan. After that, most patients follow-up within 1-2 months to assess how their treatment is starting. From there, visit frequently is every 3-6 months until symptoms have resolved, with on-going preventative care done yearly.
No, naturopathic doctors in Ontario are primary care providers and you do not require a medical note to begin care. We do however regularly communicate and collaborate with family physicians and specialists, pharmacists and other providers to ensure continuity of care and patient safety.
To your initial naturopathic visit, bring any recent (<6 months) bloodwork or imaging, a list of any current medications or supplements detailing which brand, dosage and frequency you take them, and a recall of your family history.
